About Me

Maria Steinmetz began college at Purdue University intending to be an aerospace engineer. However, she quickly discovered she loved books more than calculus, and ultimately graduated with a degree in English. She then earned a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Spalding University, focusing on writing for children and young adults.

Previously, she was a staff writer for the teen TV series Bloom and Drama Queens, set in Colorado. She has also been a contributing editor for the literary journal Forest for the Trees.

Her debut short story The Faerie Ring is available from Amazon, published under the name M.C. Metz.

Currently, when not working on her next writing project, she works for a mortgage company and teaches English classes for a local community college.
